Skyrim:A False Front (Stormcloaks)

Galmar Stone-Fist will tell you that you need to deliver false orders to an Imperial Legate in Morthal but first you intercept and steal plans from an Imperial courier. He tells you that Dragon Bridge and Rorikstead are frequented often by Imperial couriers, and you should look in the inns of those places.

imported
Skyrim:Battle for Solitude

After taking Fort Hraggstad and returning to Galmar Stone-Fist, you will be told to meet Ulfric Stormcloak and help take Solitude. Make your way to the gates to Solitude to hear Ulfric's speech. After the speech, everyone will run into Solitude. Follow them in and fight your way to Castle Dour. If facing problems coping with the Imperial soldiers, it would be a good idea to stick with Ulfric. There will be several wooden barricades littering the city—three hits or less from a weapon or Destruction spell will break them. The gate to the courtyard will be closed, so you will have to go around the city to get to Castle Dour.

Skyrim:Compelling Tribute (Stormcloaks)

After reporting to Galmar Stone-Fist, you will be told that Raerek, the steward of Markarth, is secretly a worshipper of Talos and that you will need to find some evidence of this, and then convince him to help the Stormcloaks. Head to Markarth and go into the Understone Keep. Find Raerek's quarters, located to the right as you walk towards the throne. There is a guard there who may or may not talk to you. Don't go up the stairs; instead, take a right and look left. Guards frequently patrol the halls at all hours, however Raerek will be attending to the Jarl throughout most of the day. Sneak in the room, you need to pick the lock, so make sure you have some lockpicks with you. In the dresser against the wall, directly in sight from the doorway, you will find an inscribed amulet of Talos.

Skyrim:Get Outfitted

After successfully clearing the bandits from Fort Hraggstad, your usefulness has been proven to Legate Rikke. Your oath has been sworn; you are officially an Imperial soldier and protector of the Empire. It's time you look the part. General Tullius tells you to go to Beirand, the smith, to get outfitted with your own Imperial armor. Talk to Beirand and choose your preferred weight:

imported
Skyrim:Joining the Legion

Anytime after escaping Helgen during Unbound, anyone you meet with ties with the Imperial Legion (like Hadvar) will encourage you to travel to Solitude to enlist. This will start the miscellaneous quest Imperial Introductions. In particular, some of them will specify to talk to Legate Rikke at Castle Dour. When you enter, you will witness her trying to convince an ill-informed General Tullius that Nords will follow their traditions, even in a time when loyalty is tested. Apparently, rebel leader Ulfric Stormcloak is preparing to attack Whiterun so the two strategists have their hands full. After the scene, if you try to speak to Legate Rikke, General Tullius will approach you. He will recall you from Helgen and, by any of your dialogue options, point you towards Legate Rikke for putting someone as resourceful as you to good use.

Skyrim:Joining the Stormcloaks

Proceed to Windhelm and enter the Palace of the Kings. If this is your first time in the palace, then Jarl Ulfric Stormcloak and his lieutenant, Galmar Stone-Fist, will have a long conversation concerning the war. Speak with Ulfric, who recognizes you from Helgen and will direct you to speak with his lieutenant. Galmar will ask you why you want to join, then tell you that to prove yourself worthy of joining the Stormcloaks, you must travel to the Serpentstone Isle and defeat an Ice Wraith. If you are below level 20, he will also give you an Elixir of Resist Cold and three Ice Wraith Banes, both of which can be incredibly helpful on this quest if you are at a low level.

Skyrim:Message to Whiterun (Stormcloaks)

Ulfric Stormcloak has decided that it's time to make Whiterun's Jarl Balgruuf the Greater pick a side. Ulfric hopes to avoid bloodshed in Whiterun, so he'll give you an axe (Ulfric's War Axe) and tell you to deliver it to Balgruuf. He has no further message for you to take, as he says that the axe is a gesture between two warriors who understand each other and that Balgruuf will know its meaning.

imported
Skyrim:Rescue from Fort Neugrad

After reporting to Galmar Stone-Fist in the Falkreath Stormcloak Camp, he tells you that your current objective is the Imperial-controlled Fort Neugrad where some of your brother Stormcloaks are being held captive. He has sent scouts ahead to the fort, so meet up with them for further instructions. When you meet up with the scouts speak with Ralof, who will be quite happy to see you. He will tell you that they have located a cave under the lake that should lead into the fort's prison. After you have released the prisoners, head to the courtyard where he and his men will join you in fighting the Imperials.

Wooden barricades will block the entrance to the fort—these are easily destroyed in a few hits.

imported
Skyrim:The Battle for Fort Kastav

You will only receive this quest if you chose to give Winterhold to the Imperial Legion during the quest Season Unending. Go to the Winterhold Stormcloak Camp and talk to Galmar Stone-Fist. Galmar will tell you to go to Fort Kastav and meet the Stormcloaks preparing for the attack. Meet with the men west of the fort, and then attack the fort. Your journal will keep track of the percentage of enemies left. Once all the Imperials are dead, you will have to head back to Ulfric Stormcloak for the next part in the Liberation of Skyrim quest.

Skyrim:Aftershock

This quest is initiated from Tolfdir at the College of Winterhold after becoming Arch-Mage. When asked "Is there anything I should be aware of?" Tolfdir will respond that there is some sort of magical disturbance which seems to be related to the Eye of Magnus, and will provide a quest location.

imported
Skyrim:Alteration Ritual Spell

To initiate this quest, you must have an Alteration skill of 90 or higher. Speak with Tolfdir and ask if there is anything new that he can teach you. He tells you that he has been working on a new spell but, to complete his research, he needs heartscales. These must be cut from a dragon's skeleton and can only be done using a dagger called Kahvozein's Fang. He asks you to retrieve the blade, which can be found in a radiant dragon priest dungeon.

imported
Skyrim:Arniel's Endeavor

Talk to Arniel Gane and ask if there is any College business you can assist him with. He'll state that it's nothing official, but he is working on a "project". He refuses to say anything about it, but he asks you to bring him ten Dwemer cogs. They can be found randomly throughout any and all Dwarven ruins. If you have not already found a Dwarven ruin, Alftand is near the College of Winterhold, and the ruin under Markarth is easy to find and lower-level friendly.

imported
Skyrim:Brelyna's Practice

Brelyna Maryon is a serious student at the College of Winterhold. After completing Under Saarthal, you can find her back at the College (likely in the Hall of Attainment). When you speak to her, she'll request your help: "We're all trying to become better mages, right? Well, I need someone I can practice a few spells on. Nothing dangerous, really. Would you be willing to assist me?" If you agree to help her for a price, she will offer an amulet in return. Apparently, she has developed a type of Alteration spell that she needs to cast onto someone else, and she will be relieved that she won't have to ask J'zargo for help.

imported
Skyrim:College Objective Quest

During conversations with certain NPCs, namely innkeepers and spell merchants, you may be given the option to ask them about magic training. You will usually be directed to either the local city's court mage or the College of Winterhold itself. Asking about the college directly will result in a new map marker and also brings up a miscellaneous quest to visit the College of Winterhold.

imported
Skyrim:Conjuration Ritual Spell

To start this quest, go to the College of Winterhold when you have level 90 in Conjuration. Talk to Phinis Gestor and ask him if you can learn more about Conjuration. He will need a Sigil Stone. He will give you the spell Summon Unbound Dremora. Head to the top of the Hall of Attainment. Note that you need to go outside. Stand in the circle and use the spell. This will summon an Unbound Dremora. Summoning the Unbound Dremora will initiate a conversation:

imported
Skyrim:Containment

As you regain consciousness after witnessing part of the battle between Ancano and the Arch-Mage Savos Aren, Mirabelle Ervine will be standing above you, telling you to get on your feet. Gather your wits and find her visibly shaken and upset. Tell her you feel okay, and she will tell you that Ancano is doing something with the Eye of Magnus and that the Arch-Mage is missing. This will begin the quest. Head to the College's central courtyard where you will find the Arch-Mage's body and a group of mages. Tolfdir will approach you and inform you that whatever killed the Arch-Mage has also affected the town of Winterhold. He asks you to go there and save the town.

imported
Skyrim:Creature of Legend

Upon installing the Wild Horses Creation, you will be directed to the Arcanaeum in the College of Winterhold to learn more about reports of a recent Unicorn sighting. Once there, you will find Soran's Journal sitting on Urag gro-Shub's desk. It details the research on Unicorns carried out by a wildlife scholar named Soran Hariksen, who sighted a Unicorn in the forests of the Rift. The creature is supposedly from the distant past and was brought forward in time by the Psijic Order after the last living Unicorn was sacrificed to Hircine during his quest in Oblivion.

imported
Skyrim:Destruction Ritual Spell

Once your Destruction skill reaches 100 (see bugs), a new conversation option opens up with Faralda, the Destruction trainer at the College of Winterhold ("What else is there to be learned about Destruction magic?"). Selecting this option will result in Faralda giving you the book Power of the Elements. The incomplete book contains only a clue in the form of a poem:

imported
Skyrim:Enchanting Pick-Up

Sergius will request that you pick up an item to be enchanted from a customer, located somewhere in Skyrim. The NPC will be in a city, won't be part of either the Thalmor or the College of Winterhold, and will have one of the following voicetypes: FemaleElfHaughty, FemaleDarkElf, FemaleEvenToned, MaleElfHaughty, MaleDarkElf, or MaleEvenToned. Most of the possible NPCs are elves, but not all. In total, there are 57 possible NPCs. Locate the NPC and speak with them to obtain the item required, which will be a piece of jewelry. Return to Sergius to complete the quest and be rewarded. You will be rewarded with a leveled amount of gold for the delivery of the item.

imported
Skyrim:Fetch me that Book!

After joining the College of Winterhold, you will find an opportunity to visit the Arcanaeum. Here you will meet the master archivist, Urag gro-Shub. He is very solicitous of his books, threatening bodily harm should any problems arise under his watch. After his blustering, ask Urag if there is any College business you can help with. If you assure him you are feeling adventurous, he will name a book title he would like to procure from a more "dangerous" location.

imported
Skyrim:First Lessons

Before heading to Winterhold to start this quest, you may want to check whether you have enough magicka to complete the quest's first challenge—you may need as much as 135 magicka. With the novice hood found in Helgen Keep during Unbound, even new level-one characters will have 130 magicka. If you do not have other Fortify Magicka apparel or potions, one option available to everyone is to visit the Temple of the Divines in Solitude and activate the shrine of Julianos to obtain 25 more magicka from the Blessing of Julianos. If you have the Dragonborn add-on installed, you may choose the power Secret of Arcana from the black book Filament and Filigree and all your spells will cost no magicka for 30 seconds.

Skyrim:Forgotten Names

Note: This quest does not appear in your journal.

imported
Skyrim:Good Intentions

After your conversation with Urag gro-Shub about the newly recovered books, the librarian suggests you speak with Tolfdir about the findings. Tolfdir can be found in the Hall of the Elements, in deep rumination about the orb from Saarthal, or the Eye of Magnus. Let him know about your findings and he will begin to discuss the Eye with you. He will explain how the markings seem to be unique, as they do not appear to be Elven, Daedric, or Ayleid. Ancano will interrupt Tolfdir's musings and demand that you follow him to meet a mysterious visitor who has asked to speak with you.

imported
Skyrim:Hitting the Books

After the discovery of the mysterious Orb in the depths of Saarthal, a puzzled Tolfdir decides to send you back alone to alert Arch-Mage Savos Aren. Aren turns out to be quite uninterested in the whole affair. You will then be given the quest and prompted to go speak to Mirabelle Ervine, who then sends you along to librarian Urag gro-Shub to research the subject. Locate Urag, who can usually be found behind his desk inside the Arcanaeum where he functions as the librarian and keeps a close eye on the College's huge collection of ancient tomes. After warning you about touching any of the books in the library, the old Orc will mention that there may be relevant information in one of three tomes which are no longer in his possession. They were 'borrowed' by an Apprentice named Orthorn who recently, due to a dispute with the College, joined a group of renegade mages in Fellglow Keep. Urag can do nothing for you without the books, and says you'll have to find Orthorn to retrieve the books so the research of the Orb can begin.

imported
Skyrim:Illusion Ritual Spell

Once you have level 100 (see bugs) in the Illusion skill, travel to the College of Winterhold. Once there, find Drevis Neloren. Ask him if you can learn anything more about Illusion magic. He will give you a spell, Vision of the Tenth Eye, and ask you to find four Master Illusion texts. You can only see these books for a thirty second period each time you cast the vision spell.

imported
Skyrim:J'zargo's Experiment

If you attended Tolfdir's lecture when you joined the College of Winterhold you may have run into a conceited Khajiit named J'zargo. J'zargo is ambitious and after your adventures under Saarthal, he tries to ingratiate himself and ask for your assistance: "J'zargo has seen that Tolfdir likes you. You must be very skilled with magic, yes? J'zargo is working hard, but cannot do it alone. Can you help with this?" It seems he has developed a new Destruction scroll that is especially effective against the undead. J'zargo will give you ten scrolls and send you on your way with instructions to report back on their efficacy.

imported
Skyrim:Onmund's Request

By now, you will have gotten to know Onmund, the friendly and singular Nord at the College of Winterhold. He has traded his family amulet to Enthir but now regrets his decision. Onmund will not tell you what he traded the amulet for, but asks for your help in getting his property back.

imported
Skyrim:Out of Balance

Drevis Neloren can be found in the Hall of Countenance at the College of Winterhold. Ask him if there is any College business that you can assist with and he will answer, "There may be a matter in which your... skills... could be useful. The various points of focus for magic energies around the College have become polluted, and need cleansing. The magical energies underneath the college still require purification. Your assistance would be most useful." When you agree to help, Drevis will provide you with the mystic tuning gloves and let you know what needs to be done: "...These specially enchanted gloves will allow you to delve directly into the focal points for these energies. Go to each focal point and remove whatever impurities you may find there. Return the gloves to me when you have finished. Please exercise caution. This is not a procedure without possible... consequences."
