At this point, you may purchase one from him for a small fee, or find one in random loot throughout the game. | Skyrim:A Scroll For Anska High Gate Ruins is a remote Nordic ruin on the snowy tundra east of Solitude, near the shores of the Sea of Ghosts. When you enter, it soon becomes clear that someone visited the ruin recently, as the residing draugr have already been killed. Proceed into the first room and you will meet the person responsible, a Nord wizard named Anska. When approached she will introduce herself and ask if you are there to help her as she has finally located Vokun's Crypt. She then explains her goal, namely to locate a special scroll that could link her family blood all the way back to the legendary Ysgramor. She will also briefly describe Vokun as "Some old priest buried here long ago.", hinting at her lack of research and explaining her need for help. She fears the old priest could awaken and prove too powerful a foe, so she wants you to lead her through the ruin and help her fight the opposition. Accept her request and the quest will start. | imported |
| Skyrim:Blood on the Ice When you first visit Windhelm, a few of the citizens and guards will mention a serial killer on the loose. A general fear is noticeable, but nobody will really talk about the killings, and it remains nothing but a rumor. When the right conditions have been met (see this section on how to trigger), the body of the Candlehearth Hall barmaid, Susanna the Wicked, will appear, surrounded by witnesses, in the graveyard. If you approach the scene, a guard will stop you and explain a bit about the murders. The guard also explains about the local guards being too busy with the war to do any real investigation, and they would gladly accept some help from you. For starters, he tasks you with questioning the three townsfolk gathered around the body. | imported |
| Skyrim:Delayed Burial Beginning Innocence Lost or With Friends Like These... will create some minor restrictions on your options in this quest. Entering the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary or starting Destroy the Dark Brotherhood! will cause this quest to fail. However, none of these contingencies are of significant consequence to progression through the Dark Brotherhood questline or through the game in general, as this quest is a relatively minor one. | imported |
| Skyrim:Evil in Waiting The Nordic ruin of Valthume lies southeast of Markarth at the end of the path that leads southeast from Dushnikh Yal. No citizens will ever mention the ruin, although the Greybeards may detect a "whisper of a word" from the location, as there is a Word Wall in the ruin. They can point you in the right direction. | imported |
| Skyrim:Forbidden Legend "The history of Skyrim is vast, predating even the most ancient records of man and mer. Much has been lost, fallen to the ravages of war or the turning of the ages. But nothing is ever truly forgotten. Where no records exist, legends and folk tales offer us a key to the past, a way to piece together truths half-remembered in the minds of men." | imported |
| Skyrim:Infiltration You will find Stalleo next to a campfire along the narrow dirt road just outside of Treva's Watch. Mistaking you for a mercenary, he will tell you that invaders kidnapped his family and took possession of the fort while he and his bodyguards were away fighting in the war. He will tell you that his family is inside, and ask you to use a nearby secret tunnel (Treva's Watch Escape Tunnel; the "back door" in your journal) to access the fort, fight your way through, and then use a lever from inside to open the front gate for him. | imported |
| Skyrim:In My Time Of Need Outside the Holds, you may come across Alik'r Warriors interrogating a Redguard woman in the Skyrim wilderness. After Irileth informs the jarl about the dragon attacking the Western Watchtower during Dragon Rising, you may return to Whiterun and observe an argument between Whiterun guards and Alik'r Warriors regarding their presence in the hold. Speak with the warriors to start the quest. | imported |
| Skyrim:Kyne's Sacred Trials Visit Froki's Shack and speak to Froki, a hunter. He will lament the worship of the Divines and pine over the old Nordic traditions that honor Kyne. If you agree, he'll grant you a blessing to seek out the guardian beasts of Skyrim and perform the Sacred Trials of Kyne. All the guardian beasts are unseen until you engage in the quest and inhabit areas populated by normal creatures of their same species. You'll have to go out and hunt the lesser beasts first before he gives you the set of greater beasts to hunt. The final trial is to hunt and kill Kyne's troll champion. If you struggled with the guardian mammoth, this part is potentially even more difficult. The troll spirit is inside Graywinter Watch and will almost immediately attack alongside two other normal trolls making this a tough fight for lower level players. It is a very small cave and if you sneak on entering, all three can be picked off from the entrance (fire bow recommended). Any sort of fire damage is useful on all the creatures involved in this quest, especially the trolls. Two dead bandits have minor loot, alongside Froki's bow (on a barrel). Froki will reward you with Kyne's Token upon completion of the quest. | imported |
| Skyrim:Laid to Rest Just about everyone around town will be gossiping about Hroggar's house that recently burned down, with his wife and daughter inside. Since Hroggar shacked up with Alva the very next day, many townspeople suspect foul play. Once you've found the charred ruins of the house, next to Highmoon Hall, you can take your inquiry straight to the jarl, who will ask for your help in this matter: to sift through the ashes others are afraid to touch. Alternatively, after discovering the house, but before seeing the jarl, a guard will approach you, asking for help, and initiating the quest. Similarly, visiting Jonna at Moorside Inn before visiting the jarl will also set you on your way. | imported |
| Skyrim:Lights Out! In Solitude, find an Argonian named Jaree-Ra leaning against a wall under the stairs closest to the gate. Speak to him, and he asks how you would like making some gold. He then (if you indicate interest) tasks you to put out the fire in the Solitude Lighthouse. A ship called the Icerunner is due to soon come into port, and without the lighthouse fire to guide it, it will crash on the rocks. This leaves it open to be plundered. Jaree-Ra assures you that the men aboard won't be harmed, and 'may even be grateful for the daring rescue we'll perform'. After you agree to snuff the fire, he tells you to meet him again by the Solitude docks. He also warns you to not speak with him beforehand, lest you arouse suspicion. | imported |

| Skyrim:No One Escapes Cidhna Mine You will arrive in Cidhna Mine after completing the quest The Forsworn Conspiracy and choosing to go to jail, where Urzoga gra-Shugurz tells you that you will have to mine for your freedom. Your journal will inform you that you must find Madanach, also known as the King in Rags, to help clear your name. Head through the gate, walk down the wooden platform, and talk to miner Uraccen who is sitting by the fire. | imported |
| Skyrim:Promises to Keep When visiting the Bee and Barb in Riften, a Breton bard named Louis Letrush will recruit you into doing a favor for him. Apparently, Louis has purchased a valuable horse named Frost from Sibbi Black-Briar. Unfortunately, Sibbi was locked up in the Riften Jail before the deal could be finalized. Louis asks you to discuss the situation with Sibbi in the jail, then deliver the horse and its lineage papers to him. | imported |
| Skyrim:Repairing the Phial Note: This quest can only be started after gaining full access to the Throat of the World during the quest of the same name. | imported |
| Skyrim:Repentance While travelling southwest of Riften, you may come across the ominous Darklight Tower. The guards in Riften are concerned about the place, stating: "There's a foul presence coming from Darklight Tower... Some say the place is home to necromancers." When you enter the tower, you will be witness to a murder; an Imperial elemental mage has killed a witch. Seeing you, the mage, Illia, tries to explain. Illia is near desperate, trying to escape the depravity of the coven within the tower. She was tasked with locating a human sacrifice so that her mother, Silvia, can conduct a ritual to become a hagraven. Illia takes responsibility for the horrific things she has done in the tower, but makes a stand against taking an innocent life. She asks you to help her stop her mother's vile plan. | imported |
| Skyrim:Rise in the East The East Empire Company is a huge organization that originated in Vvardenfell and later set up operations in Skyrim: a warehouse in Solitude and an official office in Windhelm. The warehouse near Solitude is off limits, but talking to the guard outside will provide some information on the problems the Company is experiencing. The guard will then point you towards the Windhelm office, specifically an Imperial named Orthus Endario who works there. | imported |
| Skyrim:Rising at Dawn This quest can only be started once you have become a vampire, either through the incubation of Sanguinare Vampiris or through infection by a member of the Volkihar clan. It is repeatable and there is no limit to the amount of times you can perform the quest. | imported |
| Skyrim:Siege on the Dragon Cult When you enter the courtyard of Forelhost for the first time, Captain Valmir will call to you. When the two of you get close enough, he'll initiate a conversation. He will claim he has been sent there by military forces in an attempt to recover a powerful artifact for the war effort. He asks for your help, since he cannot do it alone. According to him, this was the last stronghold of the Dragon Cult back in the First Era, and the commander's mask was allegedly an extremely powerful artifact. He requests that you enter the ruin and retrieve the item. He also mentions that the military general who stormed the fortress to wipe out the cult supposedly left his journal here, so finding it might provide some more information. | imported |
| Skyrim:Silenced Tongues Immediately inside the entrance to your left is a skeleton sitting on a throne that will come alive and attack you if given the chance. After killing him, look down to find Heddic's Volunruud Notes and what appears to be Heddic's skeleton. Reading the book begins the quest, as does attempting to open the puzzle door further on. | imported |
| Skyrim:Tending the Flames All over Skyrim, the Bards performing at the various inns and taverns will point you towards the Bards College in Solitude. When you enter the building, you will be greeted by Headmaster Viarmo; he will explain a bit about the college and will proceed to hand you a task as part of your application to join. He explains that the ancient college ritual The Burning of King Olaf has been canceled due to the recent assassination of High King Torygg. The grieving widow, the recently appointed Jarl of Solitude, Elisif the Fair reasons that burning a King in effigy is distasteful at this time and wants the festival shut down. The Festival itself is centuries old and is, according to Viarmo, held to celebrate Solitude and the heroic acts of the mythical King Olaf who apparently slew Numinex, a fearsome dragon who terrorized Skyrim during the First Era. | imported |
| Skyrim:The Blessings of Nature The only temple dedicated to Kynareth, goddess of air, wind, and sky, is located in Whiterun and is being maintained by priestess Danica Pure-Spring. Just outside the temple grows the Gildergreen, a tree planted in the earliest days of Whiterun and considered holy by worshippers of Kynareth. However, the tree was recently struck by lightning and has faded away, much to the dismay of traveling pilgrims and the citizens of Whiterun. Danica Pure-Spring, while willing to solve the problem with the sacred tree, has her hands full due to the civil war, so the tree is still dead. If you ask innkeeper Hulda or local bard Mikael for the latest gossip, they will both tell you about the state of the tree and point you towards Danica Pure-Spring. Danica sits under the tree every morning from 7am, trying to get someone to help her out; otherwise she will be in the temple tending to the sick and injured. When you talk to her, she will immediately complain about the situation, and explain what needs to be done to make it bloom again. | imported |
| Skyrim:The Book of Love Dinya Balu is a priestess of the Temple of Mara in Riften, devoted to spreading the word and acts of the Divine. When you speak with her inside the temple, asking for Mara's blessing, she will explain that earthly services on Mara's behalf are first required. When you are ready to go forth, bearing Mara's light, Dinya explains the visions that Mara has given her, and asks you to act in Mara's name to aid those who are having trouble with their love. | imported |
| Skyrim:The Forsworn Conspiracy While walking through the open market in Markarth, a woman named Margret is viciously attacked while buying jewelry. Her attacker, a Breton witchblade named Weylin, will shout "The Reach belongs to the Forsworn!" as he attempts to escape. If you do not step in, the guards will kill Weylin, who defiantly exclaims, "I die for my people." In the ensuing confusion, the guards are curt as they try to quell the small crowd that has gathered. If you ask about the crime and the Forsworn, they tell you that the Forsworn are nothing but a bunch of madmen, and to mind your own business. | imported |
